Lessons
We offer:
30 minute private lessons for beginners through advanced riders
*All beginners will ride in private lessons until the instructor deems them safe to ride in a group
60 minute group lessons
*Group lessons offered to riders on a case-by-case basis,
at the discretion of the instructor, and after a private evaluation lesson.
Scheduling
We teach lessons Mondays through Saturdays,
with morning, afternoon, and evening times available
with one of our fabulous, Massachusetts licensed and insured instructors.
After your introductory lesson we can find a day and time that fit your needs. Riders come a minimum of once per week on a recurring day and time.
We operate on a monthly subscription system.
Tuition for the month of lessons is due at or before the first lesson of the month to avoid late fees.

1 Introductory 30 Min Private Lesson: $75
Monthly Subscription
Once-a-week Riders: $300
Twice-a-week Riders: $600
Individual Riders & Families who ride three times per week: $900
Add an extra lesson onto an existing month: $70
These rates apply to both 30 minute private lessons and 60 minute group lessons
Our monthly subscription is a flat-rate for the month (no more counting weeks!).
Riders are entitled to one lesson per week, for each day of the week that they are signed up to ride.
Pony Pals(sm) Lessons for riders in Preschool through Kindergarten
Our youngest riders spend their 30 minute lesson splitting their time evenly with learning to groom and get the pony ready to ride, as well as learning the basics of riding.
Cancellation Policy
All cancellations require 24 hour notice in order to receive a makeup. Any lesson cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled time slot will be charged in full and a makeup lesson will not be granted for any circumstance.
Lessons cancelled with more than 24 hours notice will be granted a makeup which must be taken within 4 weeks of the cancellation. Each rider will be granted one makeup per month, per day of the week that they ride, so long as more than 24 hours notice has been given for the cancellation.
Payment Policy
The monthly subscription fee must be paid for for all weekly spots that the rider is registered for. Subscriptions must be paid for in full prior to the first lesson of each month by check, cash, or Venmo. Failure to do so will result in losing your spot.
Hold Your Spot
Going away for a month and want to save your spot on our schedule? No problem! In order to save your spot on our schedule we require 50% payment for the month you will be gone. This is not a deposit towards the returning month, and tuition for the month you return will be due in full, prior to the first lesson on the month.
Why Do We Have These Policies?
Because the horses that you love to learn from need to eat, drink, and be cared for every day of the year, no matter what. Therefore, we need to be able to pay to feed them, water them, house them, cover their many shoeing and veterinary needs, and pay the people who take such loving care of them, just to name a few things. That means that we need to keep our schedule full and revenue coming in so that our horses can continue to be cared for properly.

What to Wear and Bring??
Riders are now required to provide their own helmet and paddock boots. Failure to bring your own helmet and/or boots to your lesson will result in forfeiting your lesson.
Please note that appropriate footwear is required in the barn and on the farm property for rider and non-riders (parents, caregivers, siblings, friends, etc.). This includes riding boots (paddock boots) and closed toed shoes. No flip-flops or open toed shoes allowed, for safety reasons.

We STRONGLY recommend a riding helmet with MIPS Technology. At a minimum we require an ASTM-SEI Certified/Approved riding helmet (no bike helmets). We discourage the purchase of riding helmets that have a dial fit system - they simply don't stay in place, stay as tight, or fit as well while riding, let alone in the event of a fall.

Gloves and a Crop
Additionally, dress for the outside elements and temperature. Although we have a lovely insulated indoor arena, our barn and arena are not climate controlled. Also wear sunscreen and bring water during the warmer months.
Alternatively, jeans can be substituted for breeches, and a boot with a small heel can be worn in place of proper riding boots. Please, no sneakers for riding.
We can lend you a helmet if you have yet to purchase one.
Why shouldn't I ride in sneakers?
The heel on paddock or tall boots keeps the stirrup iron from slipping too far back on the heel or ankle, and getting stuck. Sneakers lack a heel and pose a safety hazard.
Why should I ride in gloves, even in the summer?
Gloves provide better grip on the reins, as well as protection from blisters.
